More Fun. Less Stress. The Life.

Does having more free time to do what you want and when you want sound good to you? Don’t look back on your life 20, 30, or 40+ years from now just to discover that you’ve been stuck in the same dead-end career for most of your life.

I’ve already taken a step out of the “rat-race” door of what most people mistake for a life. The sad truth is that instead of a life most people we know are just struggling to make a living – physically, emotionally, financially, all-of-the-above.

This is my first of several posts that will focus on my blog’s tagline, “More Fun. Less Stress. The Life.” I know that everyone generally wants to be happy and enjoy life. It’s also safe to say that being able to minimize those things that stress us (more specifically “distress” us) will help us be happier. For many people, the drudgery of their work/professional lives is the biggest stress. Instead, wouldn’t it be great if your biggest stress was trying to decide between lounging around in Maldives or Seychelles for a month? Now that’s the life!

Killer Instinct – Get Some

o have killer instinct? Do you have what it takes to make tough decisions under pressure like a super-spy? If you do, then consider yourself in a minority of the population.

Why do you need to have killer instinct? Maybe you don’t. But if your hope is to pursue highly competitive fields or pursuits then you’ll need some to get ahead. Google Wave – Wave of the Future?

Google Wave is positioning itself as an evolution in web-based communication/collaboration. Though interesting, I’m not so sure how many everyday regular people would be taking full advantage of this thing.

For one, based on the few details and screengrabs of the interface – this thing is pretty robust. I can only imagine business users having the ability to leverage the power of this tool. It seems to me that it’s trying to pseudo legitimize social networking by giving it a twist of business/work functionality. This is fine if you’re looking for that perfect excuse to explain to your boss why you’re on Gmail/Google Chat all the time at the office (if they haven’t fired you before Google Wave is released).

But for outside of the office environment I can’t really see how…

Burger King Fancy Gourmet (and other surprises)

Ever wonder how fast food would look like if a master chef put it together? Nope, me either. But my good friend Erik had some time on his hands to show us anyway.

Surviving the Economic Meltdown or Worse

For those who want to live life like a super-spy (but without the dangers of being “eliminated”), “Emergency” by Neil Strauss is for you. An interesting read if nothing else, you’ll learn how to survive in a no-holds barred world when things go from worse to worst. Ever wonder how you’d keep money safe outside of the country? Ever wonder how to legally reside in two or more places so you can travel freely whenever you want (especially for those back-to-back parties between Milan and Monaco)? Given today’s economic and geo-political state around the world, I wouldn’t count anything out…
